Psalm 92:12-15
The righteous flourish like the palm tree
and grow like a cedar in Lebanon
They are planted in the house of the LORD;
they flourish in the courts of our God.
They still bear fruit in old age;
They are full of sap and green,
to declare that the LORD is upright;
he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

Sweet , sweet promises.

Dear Melissa,
Sweet promises indeed! Thank you for sharing this. He is my rock!
Love, Paula
and we're standing on it!
Did you read Spurgeon for the 13th? "The branch cannot bear fruit of itself."—John 15:4. "We are taught, by past experience, that the more simply we depend upon the grace of God in Christ, and wait upon the Holy Spirit, the more we shall bring forth fruit unto God. Oh! to trust Jesus for fruit as well as for life." Quite apt for your post here... :-)
Dear Beth--
Yes, I did! Wasn't it glorious? I can't get enough of this truth that to cast myself on Jesus and to rest in His work is the *one thing*. To "be most in those engagements which you have experimentally proved to draw you nearest to Christ, because it is from Him that all your fruits proceed"...I pray to really know and live this more and more. Thank you for your encouragement, today, my friend.
Thank you Melissa!
What glorious promises! I love the "They still bear fruit in old age;They are full of sap and green"
That is how I want to be.
I gave you an award at my blog. Don't worry about posting, I just wanted you to know!
Stay warm!
I thank you for your encouragement!
