Here is My Hero transplanting sunflowers on a Sunday morning. A sweet thing, in and of itself, but even sweeter in context. He farmed until dark on Saturday (with the Bible-on-mp3 speaking through his ear buds, redeeming tractor time), stayed awake long into the night studying to teach at church the next day (a pot of tea beside him), rose early to feed cattle, transplanted sunflowers outside my kitchen window. He then breakfasted, cleaned up dapper and shiny, drove us forty miles to Calvary Baptist Church,
joyfully taught our all-congregation Sunday School as one of the shepherds there, and
joyfully worshiped with the local body. That's Jeff. I'm just sayin'.

Isn't he just the best?
Melissa,
I noticed you said that your Jeff taught your "all-congregation" Sunday School. Do you have a family integrated congregation? We attend one here and it is a blessing to have everyone together for Sunday School and church!
Just wondering...

There is no one else I have ever met who is like Jeff. Except maybe Benton Frazier. :-) What a special man. I am so blessed to have him as a brother. I could certainly benefit from his diligent example.
I love you brother.
Hello friends! Can you tell I'm out of blog mode? I hadn't checked my comments for weeks when Will told me I had some. :) Thank you for taking the time to communicate here even though you have reason to think I never check this place!
Karrie--what a joy to 'find you' in the comments here. Thanks for sharing the love and memories with me. Yep, that Benton/Jeff thing is rare :)...I love and miss you to pieces!
Hello Deanna--you're so good to check back here! Yes, our church services are all age integrated at this time. We've had classes in the past for the younger children using Desiring God curriculum and that was another kind of blessing!
Maybe I'll post again sometime! Life is so full. You know.
Peace-
M.
