Mama's Room ~'::

:: POST BY KATIE ::
Greta and I were able to be at the farm last weekend for a few days. Mama’s room was so soothing and lovely and her that I couldn’t help myself taking pictures. The winter light is so lovely in that room. Her window faces west so the best sun of the day comes in the afternoon. Greta likes to go in there and look for treasures. She loves the needlepoint stool, and the traveling clock; she rearranges the bracelets and studies the pictures of Pa when he was younger.

Mama's cozy new granny square ottoman cover.
Mama and Daddy's kitchen and eating area had its flooring replaced last week. It is beautiful. The walls and shelves have been repainted and there are new curtains for the sliding glass door. It is warm and delightful in there. We will take pictures to share when we can. :)

Mama has been spending more time than usual in her room in the past week. The breast cancer that she dealt with seven years ago has come back, and last Thursday she went in to the hospital to have surgery. More radical surgery than last time, and it went well. This new tumor seems to have been very well contained and there was no other cancer to be found so her prognosis is good! Now she must rest and let her body heal. She will not have to have chemotherapy this time, for which we are very grateful, perhaps radiation after she is healed from surgery. She is doing very well this week—we are encouraged. The Lord is so good to us; He cares and sustains and brings encouragement each day! If you’re interested, there is a link to Mama’s CaringBridge site on the sidebar.
Mama plans to be back to her blog very soon and hopes to start posting more. Until then, enjoy the loveliness from her home. :)

Melissa ~ I don't know if I've commented on here before or not. I do read you and Katie and Will (and have for some time), and I know my eldest son, Brian, enjoys Will's photography.

You are a precious family, and you will be much in our prayers as you rest and attend to the business of letting God heal your body. May you all be even more aware than usual of His tender embrace, and may it bring you warmth and comfort and strength on this journey.

Blessings, love and prayers from the Deputy Family.

Melissa, your room is so calm and serene looking. A special place to meet with Jesus each day. I pray for the mighty presense of Jesus there as He heals you physically and as you grow nearer to the Him!
Prayers for you and your family from Kansas! Gail

Melissa, I'm so sorry the beast came back, but so thankful that the outlook is good for you.

Mind your happiness; that's really all you have to do, because your soul and body are in His hands.

In Christ's hands,
Lynn
